Welcome to Hoehn Motors

The Hoehn family has been in the automobile business since the 1920’s. Founder T.W. Hoehn was very successful at selling Chevrolet vehicles as an independent agent, and in 1928 was awarded a Chevrolet franchise with General Motors in Memphis, Tennessee. Hoehn Chevrolet grew into one of the largest dealerships in the mid-South. The business expanded across the country, with added franchises in St. Louis, Kansas City and Beverly Hills.

In 1970, Big Bill Hoehn sold the dealerships and retired to La Jolla, California. Within a few years, he saw an opportunity and bought a fledging Oldsmobile-Honda-Mercedes-Benz dealership in Car Country Carlsbad. His timing was serendipitous, as 1975 saw the end of a recession and the rapid economic and population growth of North County San Diego; as well as the surge in popularity of Honda and Mercedes-Benz cars in the U.S. marketplace.

Big Bill was quickly joined by his sons, Bill and Bob, who continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the business alongside their children – Ted, Adrienne, Jo Hannah and Susanah. This is the 4th Generation of Hoehns in the automobile business.

Today, the Hoehn Family of Dealerships celebrates 50 years in business, proudly representing 7 brands in Carlsbad (Audi, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Sprinter) and a second Audi dealership in Temecula.
