Delivering Reliable Transportation Where it’s Needed Most: Supporting The Salvation Army

For many decades, the Hoehn Family of Dealerships has shared a meaningful, personal partnership with our friends at The Salvation Army in San Diego. We support their vital work through food donations, toy drives, and vehicle donations, which play a key role in their efforts that reach 267,000 individuals in our region every year.

The Salvation Army’s Rady Residence at the Door of Hope provides a safe residence to families experiencing homelessness. With 32 units, the facility offers far more than just a place to sleep, addressing homelessness through a holistic approach that includes rehabilitation programs, life skills, and vocational guidance to set residents up for lasting success. Over the years, Hoehn Cares has supported the Door of Hope Program with reliable transportation, including multiple Honda Odyssey donations, affectionately known as “The Vans of Hope”. These minivans help residents shop for groceries, pick up medical supplies, and meet with rental companies as they work towards securing permanent housing. The next phase of the transformational project will be the construction of The Rady Center, which will serve single men in downtown San Diego.
In addition to the Odyssey minivans, Hoehn Cares has also donated a Mercedes-Benz Metris Van, used to deliver food donations to food pantries and combat food waste by “rescuing” food from warehouses and grocery stores. The food rescue program also offers employment opportunities and professional driver training to those who’ve been experiencing homelessness.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with The Salvation Army for many years to come and hope our vehicles will continue to play a key role in helping San Diegan families succeed!
